TWQ (The Weekend Question) looks at those songs that make us reach for the 'off' switch.
Are there any songs that make you switch the radio off, or change channels when it comes on? List as many as you wish.
My answer is:
Everybody Wants To Rule The World - Tears For Fears..... I really despise this song. It was played endlessly when it came out and eventually it started to grate my mind. I recognise it when the first couple of notes come on, so off it goes!
Now it's over to you...
But before I go...
Just a little reminder that this is the 799th post, so look out for the 800th one coming up next!

Cher - If You Believe (that fake-disco beat drives me insane)
Miami Sound Machine - Turn the Beat Around (yawn)
Anything by Huey Lewis (the guy phones it in)
The FM/easy rock station that my wife insists on listening to plays the same songs just like these...over and over and over. It's enough to make me give up on music altogether!

when i was a teen (yeah, dinosaurs roamed the earth back then) there was a song called "hurt". i hated it!

These days practically anything that is modern R&B or Gangsta Rap style music. It leaves me cold.
Netchick sent me over to play!
Miley Cyrus - Hoedown Throwdown
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On (and on and on and on apparently)
Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
Anything by Ensign Britney :)
Anything by Rush.
I know there are quite a few more, but they're escaping me. I've probably blocked their existence out of my mind.
Havin' my baby by Paul Anka.
Period.
Nothing worse in the whole bloody world.
Nada,
nope,
nada.
Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On
Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You
Definitely, also
Madonna - American Pie (for it crappy remixing),
there is probably more but right now my mind is blocking them all out..
Gordon, I agree, there is only one American Pie.
I turn off the radio whenever Michael Bolton comes on. ANY song.
Anything by The Eagles, which will probably land me on most people's hit lists, but I have never been able to tolerate them.
the Ghost Busters theme, it's everywhere on every TV advert and it's driving me nuts!
happy 800th Jean Luc
