TWQ: Screensavers

This week, TWQ (The Weekend Collection) takes a look at your computer and it's screensaver.

What screensavers do you have on your computer? What have you had in the past?

My answer is:

I've always had my montage of Nicole Kidman pictures, which change every few seconds.

Now it's over to you..

My screensaver is a constantly changing set of pictures from the website; icanhascheezburger.com

This site features funny pictures of cats and other animals with funny captions.

Michele sent me.

Screensavers. I remember those. Currently I have the very exciting "blank black screen," which I know is probably not very healthy.

At one point, when I got my first computer, it was a series of Muppet photos. At work, it was cat/niece photos. And my default: fireworks. Not really fireworks, of course. . . not even fake Chinese Olympic fireworks. . . just the one you pick from the list that comes with your computer.

Here from Michele. Off to go find a kick-arse saver.

My screensaver is a feature that makes the screen go dark if I don't use the computer for ten minutes. Considering how much I use it, my broswer bar is burned into the monitor anyway!

My desktop picture is the earth, the default pic that came with the new computer I just got a couple of weeks ago. When I get my files back from the previous hard drive, I'll reinstall my hi-def picture of New York City at night to use.

My screensaver scrolls through pictures of my kids.

I did have it scroll through pictures of Chicago Bears, but it's not quite football season yet.

My current picture is one of the Black Knight I met last year at a joust. In all his kit on horseback.

Other than Black Knight (aka Alex) I have a screensaver of a Johnny Depp montage I used to use.

My phone has a screensaver of my cat Charlie looking all adoring...

Ah, good question, one which I haven't thought about it actually.

My current screensaver is boring - a boring picture of the sky. So maybe I'll start finding some interesting pictures to be used as screensavers, like a panda doing some funny business :)

Greetings Captain.

Not here via Michele but on my own. As for screen savers, I cycle through photos I've taken on hiking trips. Soothe the soul, they do.

Cheers.

A month ago, I had the Twilight crew, but now I've got a Dr. Who one up.

In the past I've had Lord of the Rings playing.

Sorry about your cousin, God Bless.

At the moment, nothing. I had to take it down b/c it was interfering with a program.

Usually, though, I have something astronomical.

I do not have a screen saver -- my monitor just turns off.

I have had many, many, many, many, many.....many different screen savers in the past. Many associated with Star Wars (big surprise). Other's were just interesting.

I have a purple and green "moniker" that moves across my screen at various speeds that reads, "Love, Joy and Abundance". I'm kind of new-agey that way. :)

My screensaver is a collection of pictures of family, friends, landscapes, the cosmos, favorite cartoons, and fine art. I rotate things in and out of it almost every day as I find new things I like better than the old. I used to have a screensaver that was just a scrolling banner reading "Keep Out!", but I got tired of it.

You all have such varied tastes! The type of screensavers we have tell us a lot about ourselves.

Jean Luc,

My screen saver is a dull desert scene. It is sand and rust-colored rock, a virtual no-man's land. Actually, my spouse added it. Hmmmm? If it tells a lot about me I need to change it to one of an electrical storm with huge bolts of lightning. smile

Enjoyed the comments.

My screensaver is a picture my father took of our view in the Seychelles. I've changed it periodically, to family or our animal pictures, but I always end up going back to the Seychelles one.

It's the one than makes me feel most at peace.

Here from Michele's to say hi again!

Sometime it is the generic shooting stars in space but mostly it is a montage of Maximilian Schell. I am probably the only one with a montage of Max Schell. Call me weird. :P

mine is one my kids picked when they were younger, it's a mickey mouse disney thing that shoots stars. i have no idea how to even change it.

My last one was of The Beatles, but it mysteriously vanished into space (no pun). before that I had a Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet plane, and before that the band Grand Funk Railroad's "Closer To Home" album cover. Nicole is a very pleasant sight to behold, indeed! :D

Purchasing memory is such a big hassle... You have to search online for prices, sort through which ones are legit, go out to a bunch of stores, compare prices, finally buy your memory, and then fervently pray that the price doesn't fall in the next 2 weeks or so.

I've been done in by crazy price changes in the past... especially this one time when I bought a Micro SD card for my R4 gaming flash card at what I mistakenly assumed was a steal, only to later see that it fell by $5 in a week.
