TWQ: New Year's Resolutions & Relections

As a New Year is about to start, The Weekend Question (TWQ) turns to Resolutions and then Reflections:

What New Year's Resolutions have you made in the past? Which have been broken? Which have you kept to this day?

Also:

What do you remember most about 2005? What have you accomplished?

My answers are:

I'm not one for making resolutions usually. I have tried to say to myself that I should be more tolerant with people, although this can be very difficult with some! If 'to make friends' is a resolution, then I have done very well in 2005, by being friends with so many who connect to my Journal.

2005 is the year I started to try and write a blog; I had thought about this, but was unsure of how to go about it and what the subject should be. Initially, I thought about life in the office, but that was too dull! So I decided to write about something I knew. In doing so, I have been in contact with ba fine group of people.

Two additional pieces of information:

My thanks to Running2Ks nomination of me in The Best Of Blogs competition (Humour section) There are only two days before the nominations close.

Also: you must read the post by Craziequeen which explains the Christmas memories that I put in her blog earlier. It's very good!

I have just one more thing to add:

I wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year!

Now it's over to you...

Hi sweetheart!
Nice post!! I'm gonna do something similar tonight.
Like you I don't do resolutions, although I always say I'm going to be more tolerant!
[psst - you sure we're not related!]

Thanks for the link - there may be more jean-luc memories....

2005 is my Blogyear too - who'd have thought I would have made such great friends :-)

Happy New Year, Jean-Luc Picard!!

Normally I avoid resolutions but I have decided to go ahead and make two this year. One, take control of my finances. Two, devote more time to meditation.

We'll see a year from now whether making resoltuions made any difference.

Either way, I hope luck is with you all in 2006!

I don't generally make resolutions either... However, I often use New Years to focus on long term goals and listening or updating them in my journal. blessings to you in 2006

I think I make similar resolutions every year: drink less, exercise more, etc. I don't really find the new year to be a good motivator for anything, especially because it's still cold out, so all I really want to do is stay inside as much as possible. Hard to get things done that way!

Happy New Year to you as well! I'm not a big resolution person. I figure I can make them anytime at all and the date really doesn't matter. Enjoy the rest of the year!

Well, I'm so boring that my resolution involves going to the gym every day and making some major (cosmetic) home improvements.

Zzzzzzz

;)

Happy New Year, Jean-Luc!

I never do resolutions because I never follow through. I figure I am a pretty happy person and I've made it this far unscathed, so I am all set.

Do have a wonderful New Year!

I tend to not make resolutions but I do try to change something every year.

The thing I remember most about 2005 is the Tom Cruise meltdown.

This year I have accomplished forging a closer relationship to my sister.

I usually make pretty realistic resolutions, to ensure that I'm able to keep them.

I have lots of good memories from 2005, nothing phemomenal to anyone else, but good memories of friends and family that will remain with me for many years to come.

I always end up making a resolution that I can't keep. I'm most proud of the evolution of my website this year.

Happy New Year, Captain. See you around Michele's galaxy.

resolutions: same old same old..eat less excercise more...

In 2005 I...started blogging...had a couple meltdowns that my blog friends helped me through and forgave me for...changed blog sites once...had a blind date that wasn't so great...but I think it paid off as it was then that someone rather nice started emailing me...switched from a truck to a geo metro car...

In 2006 I look forward to much of the same...blogging...emailing that someone...hanging onto the same car though...the new Xmen movie is supposed to come out next year [how "sad" is that!]....looking forward to next years Christmas Party on the Enterprise...and all the blogging inbetween...

2005 is my year of the blog too. Like you, I'm not into resolutions. I am a perpetual work-in-progress. You absolutly deserve your nomination!

Have a wonderful New Year!

No New Year's Resolution for me. It's never ever done anyway. But...for this year 2006 I'm welcoming it better than last years though according to the Chinese Calendar it's not a very good year for me. I would like to put value and vision ahead of me because vision without value has no meaning. Value without vision have no direction. Together, value and vision are a potent force that turns crisis into opportunity, disaster into prosperity, certain defeat into lasting victory. Hope this would be enough charm to fight against my feng shui this year. Happy new year too. Email has been changed. Please check and thanks for including me among your links.

I always mean to do some sort of resolution, but then I put it off, and before I know it, it's March and I still haven't even made one, let alone tried to keep it.

2005 was a fun year for me. I started blogging in February and it's definitely been a way to keep my sanity. I also wrote a novel during November, which I'm still working on.

Last year I resolved to lose weight, and I did...40 pounds! I hope to do the same again this year.

In 2005 I remember selling my house, that I lived in for 6 years, to move into a townhome twice it's size. It's the best decision my family could have made!

Happy New Year Capt!!!

Resolutions do mseem to be in general decline so far, but many seem optimistic about 2005. Here's to a bright 2006!
