TWQ: Favourite Words/Phrases

This week, TWQ (The Weekend Question) looks into those words and phrases we like to say.

What words or phrases do you like to say a lot, or habitually but in a sentence? List as many as you wish.

My answers are:

* And that's the way it is. I do add this on to a lot of my sentences. I recognise it as the US anchor Walter Cronkite's sign-off phrase.

* Think outside the box. Why I say this, I have no idea, but I do!

Now it's over to you...

When i've been rattling on & I've run out of steam - 'Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!'
When I've said something a little controversial eg: I don't like dogs & children - 'But that doesn't make me a bad person!'
When someone is spinning me a yarn -'And the band played believe it if you like'
When I've got nothing better to say - 'Somewhere ahead of us said Gandalf is the fair valley of Rivendell where Elrond lives in the Last Homely House'.

I'm ashamed to admit the number of times I use the word "Totally".

Some other gems:

"Wait 'til you hear this..."

"Whatev"

"Your point being?"

Wow, I sound lovely when I deconstruct my verbiage, don't I!

I am guilty of saying, "where the rubber meets the road" and "at the end of the day..."

I also say "Awesome!" and "Right on!" a lot.

I have also built up quite an arsenal of fake swears. I used to curse like a sailor, and I'm trying to clean it up now.

"Be that as it may" is a favourite one, it just flows beautifully.

"Nooooooooooooo" often used towards cats or when the children were little, towards them :)

At the end of the day, all things being equal, however you slice it, I'm pretty sure, that I never, ever ever, talk in those kinda, cliché, you know, everyman and his dog style phrases that you can't light a candle to.

Its too much to even try to think of an answer to this one. Whatever.

And Tanya sent me to say 'Yay, Yo Dude' to 'ya this bright and sunny morning.

Thanks! This helped a bunch! I've read a few
