TWQ: Stuck For Presents?

This week, with Christmas shopping high in everybody's thoughts, TWQ (The Weekend Question) asks about awkward presents.

Have you ever been REALLY stuck for a Christmas present to buy someone and had to buy something just to do the job, though thought it's not that good?

My answer is:

The hardest are those in which one is not sure of taste. I never buy music for someone, as a person's taste can never be the same as mine. Chocolates seem safe, although I always wish it could be something better...if I knew their tastes.

Now it's over to you...

I seem to get stuck more often than not these days as most people have a lot of everything and it's hard to find something special for them. As a matter of fact, I have done absolutely NO shopping yet this year - none! My bad ...

Visiting from NetChick to say hello directly.

To answer your question, I had a big group of friends to buy for last year and several of them got great gifts from me but the others got "cheater" gifts like chocolates and I felt really cheesy for buying them all basically the same thing. This year I think I'll go for necklaces or something.

I am pretty sure I tend to over-think the whole thing. People usually seem pleased with their gifts and I wonder why I worried so much. Net Chick sent me. Happy holidays.

Here from netchicks!

My grandfather was always the hardest to find just the right thing for. Even if you asked him what he wanted the response was always "I don't need anything".

I just wish I have more money to spend on presents so I don't have to look at the prices of every item. :)

Chocolates are very safe as presents.

I'm typically not too bad with present buying but I had one year when I was a lot younger when we went to my unlce's for Christmas and oh right about Christmas Eve, my mom said that I had to buy presents for my uncle's partner and a couple other people that I hadn't planned on. I think I bought him a magazine from a nearby convienence store.
