TWQ: Favourite Christmas Film

With Christmas getting nearer, many films with that theme will be around. TWQ (The Weekend Question) asks which you like.

What is your favourite Christmas film and why? Name more than one if you are not sure.

My answer is:

'It's A Wonderful Life' has to be my choice. The ending is very uplifting and teary. As the angel shows George Bailey (James Stewart) what life would have been like had he not lived, we get a sense of the worth each of us have.

Now it's over to you...

I would have to agree that Its a Wonderful Life has been a favorite of mine for many years. A few years ago I saw a version of A Christmas Carol that was also very good. The role of Scrooge was played by an actor named Patrick Stewart. a very good looking man who reminds me of you a little.

Net chick sent me.

I actually quite like 'Scrooged' and also the 'Nightmare before Christmas'.

In a more wholesome way I like 'Miracle on 34th Street' and sort of prefer the 1980s re-make.

And hello - netchick sent me!

Same as you.

Though I like most of the classic films, and black and white is often better than colour, the lighting was so well done, and added much to the atmosphere.

Yes, that would be my choice. And if Vargas could create a Playmate for me to enjoy it with...even better! :D)

My first choice is A Christmas Story with the infamous Ralphie and his Red Ryder BBgun.

The second is The Year Without Santa I liked the Miser Brothers.. Heat and Freeze. Brings back good childhood memories. It did turn out good for Santa in the end. Yay!!!!!

This sounds so cliche, but it's "A Christmas Carol" for me.

Mine would be "Home Alone" 1 and 2. I used to love to watch them when I was a kid.

I'm with you on "It's a Wonderful Life". Affirming and inspiring!

I'm not a big slushy Christmas Movie fan - my favourite Christmas movie is 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation'.

Chevy is stunning as the accident-prone Clark Griswold who desperately wants to give him family that dream Christmas in this irreverent comedy.

Every Christmas this goes on our DVD machine...to remind us of the true spirit of Christmas, and Clark's dogged determination to ensure Christmas is filled with love and family.

1. It's a Wonderful Life :)
2. Polar Express. The movie mesmerizes me as much as it does my nephews. I watch it even in the summer.
3. The Santa Clause
4. A Christmas Carol, the version with Patrick Stewart

There area a handful that I think are classic:

It's a Wonderful Life
Scrooged
A Christmas Story

And I don't know if these actually qualify as movies, but the classic Christmas cartoons from when we are kids are awesome, like the Grinch, Rudolph, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
