TWQ: Noises That Annoy

TWQ (the Weekend Question) asks about sounds that you find particularly grating.

What sounds or noises do you find really get on your nerves? List as many as you wish.

My answers are:

Hysterically loud laughter, especially when it's about nothing really that amusing.

Tv adverts where the advertiser shouts at the tv screen to get our attention so we have to turn the volume down.

Now it's over to you...

But before you go...

If you haven't, take a look at the previous post, which was my 5th Blogaversary. Also look out for my 1,000th post coming up soon. This is the 997th.

People chattering loudly on their cell phones in public places, particularly about personal topics.

Political windbaggery.

Loud music in cars that you can hear from your car.

Barking dogs.

House alarms going off.

TV adverts that are twice as loud as the program you are watching.

Any sudden, loud noise in a quiet environment.

Crying babies/children in a store that are ignored by the parents. Like I really want to listen to that racket -- they should have been left at home, dammit.

Walkie-talkie cell phones. Trust me, you are not THAT important, that you need an instantaneous connection. That damn chirping sound makes me wanna cram that phone down that person's throat (or into another orifice).

Thanks, I feel much better now!

My alarm clock can annoy me.
As can my work phone at the weekend.

Hhmmmm I think I'll choose all of the above. Btw, Tanya sent me. Have a nice weekend and cheers!

You're right. Mobile phones are are real turn-off, as are screaming children, especially if their parents do nothing about it.

There is, of course, the sound of fingernails against chalboards; tires squealing; the kids upstairs running back and forth and back and forth; and all of the above that other people mentioned!
