This week's TWQ (The Weekend Question) asks about things we don't relish doing:
What tasks, everyday or not, do you never look forward to doing?
My answers are:
Both my answers involve vacations, from different points of view.
1: The planning of a vacation is something I dread every year. The high cost of them makes me concerned whether it is the 'right' one, and the amount of money I might have wasted if it turns out not to be so good.
2: The long wait to get on a plane at airports and the customs at the destination, together with picking up the luggage etc makes it all very stressful. With increased security these days, it makes it more uncomfortable than ever. All this applies to the embarkation and disembarkation of a liner as well.
Now it's over to you...

DISHES!!! I abhor doing dishes with a passion!!! Probably has something to do with the fact that I was the one assigned to them Friday nights after school growing up...just because I was the oldest kis...I never thought that was fair!!! And they never go away!! This is the reason why paper plates were invented, I'm sure!
And Jean-Luc....I can think of one vacation spot that would be well worth the planning and the waiting! ;-) promise!
Cleaning! It seems that every time I turn around, I'm living in a sty--and I've been trying to keep it clean.
And going to therapy. Therapy sucks. So I don't do it anymore. Which is probably why I'm miserable and writing in sentence fragments.
I never go on vacation, partially because it's too darn stressful.
I dread cleaning the oven and ironing, so I don't do it often.

washing and sorting socks
going to the dentist.
have an awesome weekend
The current tasks that I loathe would have to be:
1. Swimsuit shopping. Moreover, swimsuit shopping that must be accomplished by February's end, elseways, I will be stuck with last year's ratty old swimsuit again. I've gone to 4 stores this week alone, and am still empty handed for my daughter and myself. We'll try again next week.
2. Along this same vein, I detest the fact that my boys (and this includs hubby) can just walk up to any rack, of any store , and their only quandary is finding the right size and color with a pocket or two. I've never paid more that $40 for a guy swimsuit (and for Nike or Quicksilver at that), but my suits end up well over $100. UGH!
Off to snoop around you blog some more, Michele sent me :) .

cleaning the bathroom and putting the laundry away. i don't mind doing the laundry, putting it into the dryer and even folding it, it's the actual putting it away i hate.
I'm only limited to two? But I can think of at least twelve!
Okay - top two ...
1) Clothes shopping. I hate it, I abhor it, I avoid it whenever possible. I carry most of my weight in my hips (the old sand in the hourglass stays in the bottom sort of shape) and it's darned hard to find anything that fits both my upper and lower body correctly. And add on those three mirrors in the dressing room and it's enough to send a person screaming from the store in sheer terror!
2) Doing laundry. My washer and dryer are down in the basement and my basement stairs are much like a glorified ladder. Trying to negotiate the things with a basket full of laundry is quite the feat and every time I do it I have visions of myself lying in a heap at the bottom with clothes scattered all around me! That said, I've been doing it for almost seven years and haven't fallen yet (knock on wood!).
My two are
1. Cleaning the bathroom
2. Packing to go on holiday
Hmmmmmm.
1. folding laundry
2. giving the dog a bath.
There are many that I absolutely despise doing. I would have to say that the top two are
1. Laundry - that's a never ending task... just when you think you are caught up... here come's another load. I swear the laundry here in my house multiplies like rabbits...
2. Cleaning the bathroom - nothing to say here except when you have teenagers it's just absolutely gross.
Thanks for stopping by...
trying to get my pantyhose on... sigh.
and as far as vacations, take a cruise, now i mean on a cruise ship, not a star ship, see? nothing like it.
smiles, bee
ps, they have chocolate on cruise ships!
I hate driving cross country with the kids. I swore we'd only do it once, but as it happens, we're taking a 20-hour drive to our new home. It's a pain in the arse. With cats. Ack.
The daily thing I hate and dread, is cleaning floors. It's not that hard, really, but for some reason, I hate and dread mopping and vacuuming.
1.Cleaning my husbands shower! It is one of those small stall type showeres and I feel claustrophobic and add cleaners it about knocks you out!
2. Shopping. I despise shopping unless it's for something constructive like home improvement. My husband loves this trait inme. :o)
3. I'm an adult college student. I hate long writing projects. I have one due on Cholesterol and I am going at it like I want to jump in a pool of razor blades.
Oops sorry. I wrote three. A blonde moment. I swear I can count. (Slapping forehead.)
Standing in line or being anywhere doing anything in which I have to wait and can't move.....while in front of me, within my sight, or within my hearing....some couple is smooching and whispering to eachother. Even had it happen to me when sitting in church. Sorry, but I DO not want to see the girlfriend lick her finger and tickle her guy's ear.
Dishes and sorting/folding socks.
I love planning vacations, though!
Ironing clothes I really hate. This is too tedious a chore for me. I hire a woman to do the ironing for us. Otherwise, the rest of the chores in the house are just okay.
Cleaning the bathroom! Ewwww!!!!
i HATE folding laundry. I have no problem throwing it in the machine. but then it will get done and i'll say, "i'll fold it later" and it turns into this huge pile of clean and dirty, then all dirty, and it goes back into the machine. ok i'm getting better at it, but i hate it.
also i hate unpacking clothes after a trip. something about knowing i will have to do the whole wash and fold again. clearly i have issues. haha!
Oh that's easy: Cleaning and laundry. They're such tedious, boring and time consuming tasks. (So many posters said cleaning too!)
I never enjoy feeding the leeches.
I can't stand balancing the checkbook!
Laundry and the dishes - easy!

Cleaning and laundry do seem to be popular amonst the unpopulars.
Incidentally, you can put as many dislikes as you wish. I just happened to list two that I'm not fond of.
Great answers Captain but I'm afraid mine is cleaning. Every time. In fact I just hate doing housework but it has to be done!
Here from Michele's.
I have to go with cleaning also. Couldn't someone invent a robot that cleans the house?
As for laundry, washing it a drying it isn't so bad. It's the folding and putting it away that gets to me.
I can't stand calling my siblings on the phone. I generally like everybody, and am a really easy person to get along with. But I come from a family whose other children are, frankly, self-centred boobs.
I would rather scratch myself silly than have a conversation with any of them.
Oh, and when we had a cat I hated cleaning his litter box. But it STILL wasn't as bad as having to talk to my sibs.
Great question! Hi from Michele's today - but I come on my own, too!
i think making my bed, and cleaning out the car.
here from michele's galaxy
1 - cleaning the bathroom
2 - dusting!
I know what you mean about planning vacations. It can be stressful. Though it's been a while since I've taken a real "get-away" trip... I do enjoy reading the tour books before I go & learning about places...
