TWQ: Famous People

This week, TWQ (The Weekend Question) asks about famous people you may have seen.

Which famous people have you actually met? If you can't think of any, were there any you saw in a concert, for example?

My answers are:

* Alan Whicker (British global tv presenter and traveller)
* Timothy West (British actor)
* Jeremy Paxman (British tv presenter)
* Camille O'Sullivan (Irish/French singer, who I talked to after her concert)

Now it's over to you...

  1. Yours is a good list - some definite 'collectables!'

I've met a few folk; some MPs, some musicians, and a few actors. Recently would include Amanda Palmer, Neil Gaiman, Billy Bragg, the Low Anthem (band) and amongst others I've had lunch with Bill Gates (and been to his house).

This time, I'm here with an AAA via Netchick's.

  2. I've actually met Tony Dovolani (champion dancer and one of the professional stars of "Dancing with the Stars" in the US. I walked past Senator John McCain once while he was being interviewed on the steps of the Capitol. That's about it.

Rowan Atkinson (very pre Mr Bean) coming out of John Menzes in Stockton Heath!

the family were at a talk at a local church given by the ex MP Ann Widdicome, and my very young son got very bored and made quite a racket as husband took him out - Ann made a quip about being heckled. That lady has a lovely sense of humour.

I totally ignored Hugh Fernly Whittingstal at a ceramics fair in London as I was discussing the pros and cons of throwing with porcelain - much more useful conversation than chatting to Hugh.

Husband once went to a lecture by one of the Bletchly Park (Enigma during WWII) decoders, and did not understand a word of it!

  11. I meet quite a number of MPs and Ministers as Singapore is small. Besides they are usually invited as guests of honour at events and functions.

I met MM Lee Kuan Yew, SM Goh Chok Tong, PM Lee Hsien Loong and have photos taken with them.

Some famous celebrities I met while they were in Singapore - Chef Martin Yan, Jacky Chan, Chow Yuen Fatt, Lewis Hamilton.

There were some famous people whom I didn't recognise even when I met them. It's quite embarrassing for me. :P

  13. I got to meet Leonard Nimoy at his "I am Spock" book signing in Easons many years ago. I must write about this experience on my blog sometime, I still remember it like it happened yesterday. Strange is'nt it?
