TWQ: Animal Choices

This week, TWQ (The Weekend Question) takes a look into the animal kingdom.

Given the choice, which sort of animal would you like to be and why? This covers insects, mammals etc. If you have more than one choice, please mention it.

My answers are:

Whenever I visit the zoo, I like to go in the reptile house. Snakes, spiders, iguanas, crocodiles are always fascinating. They may not be everybody's favourite, which is why I like them. A beautiful iguana might be my first choice.

Now it's over to you...

  1. One of my cats.

They get to sleep on the bed, on the sofa, on their cat beds, and they get fed and stroked and loved and kissed.

And they have a great garden to play in.

What a great life. As long as they have people who love them to bits. It's a shame some pets don't.

  4. I would want to be a cat - small or big.....so I could just stretch out in the sunshine.....

But any animal, I would have to be either free or in a really good home. So many animals are badly treated by us humans it makes my heart bleed sometimes....

Michele sent me to your excellent TWQ this weekend, Jean-Luc.....

    A beauty of a butterfly with a dolphin's intelligence and a faithfulness of a dog :)

  7. A Peregrine Falcon of course. I would be queen of the skies, the fastest animal on earth. I would have a beautiful sleek body and eyes that mesmerize. I would also help the songbirds out my limiting my diet to Starlings.

  8. My son likes the big cats. He is fascinated with lions and tigers. I, on the other hand, like seeing the elephants and giraffes.

  9. Hands down a house cat. All they do is eat, sleep and pooh all day, and ignore the world around them, unless it's something that amuses them :)

  10. I want to be a human male so I can piss my name in the snow and scratch my ass in public.

  11. I guess I would have to go with a domestic house cat simply because they are so spoiled and can act like they don't have a care in the world while their owner fawns all over them!

Besides, napping a ray of sunlight just sounds divine, doesn't it??

  12. Good question! I've never thought about it before. I think I'd like to be some sort of a bird, because I would love to experience flying like that. Something beautiful and graceful - maybe a swan.

I agree with you - the reptiles are facinating!

  13. I'd like to be a bear. I have a sweet tooth and having my own public convenience in the woods, with no-one bothering me would be ace. I love salmon and I wouldn't mind great big macho men being frightened of me. Bring it on! Michele says hi!

  14. BTW I don't want to be a pain in the butt but a bird is a bird je pense. not an animal.

  16. Wolf :Regal, smart, beautiful and devoted to it's family. I would run wild and free in the moonlight, howling messages to my brothers and sisters in the night.

Hawk: Has the same mate during it's life span. I would love to glide and dive in the currents of the wind.

Snow Leopard : I love the cold and I am very rare. Very few of me are left. I remind humans that we must hold onto what beauty is left before it vanishes forever. :o(

  17. Well, I wouldn't be a snake....don't like them. I think I would like to be a well loved doggie! Mine is spoiled rotten and I think I would like that too!

It's interesting you should ask that. I have always felt a strong kinship to the mighty Platypus. Just as the Platypus is a mammal that lays eggs, I have always felt that I have a certain genetic "identity crisis". Plus, I have a duck bill.

  19. Such a varied selection! You have come up with many that I might have considered myself. Butterflies, hawks, wolves are fine choices. A dog and cat do have good lives then they are in the hands of owners that spoil them!

  20. I'm thinking a pterodactil. That way I could fly and kick ass.

  21. Lets see, I would probally want to be one of my dogs, because they are SOOO Spoiled! I would also like to be a bird so I could fly around.

  22. Thanks for dropping by my blog and commenting.

I'd be a Golden Eagle, with no natural preditors and the only desire to kill another coming from hunger, I could take to the skies whenever I felt the need and see the world.

  23. Oh I don't know: dolphins are intelligent and have the same libido as a human being ... did I just write that!

A cat, maybe. It has freedom, but gets pampered if the cat owner is a decent one.

Maybe a bird living in the mountains. Soaring in the wind. I'd like that.

  24. My second choice would be a polar bear... but they've got a rough ride with global warming and goofy hunters right now.

Well it sure wouldn't be a beaver. They are always working so dam hard!

Probably would choose an otter. They have a lot of fun.

  27. oh that is easy - i AM a Red-tailed Hawk trapped in this clumsy human form!!!!!!!

  28. My answer will be quite predictable, I guess ... I would love to be a house cat ... one that never has to go outside to fend for itself. One that had the run of the house, all the food it could want, and be loved unconditionally.
    As I said, predictable !!
    Take care, Meow
