TWQ: Your Favourite Three Course Meal

The Weekend Question (TWQ) this week has a culinary flavour as I ask:

What is your perfect three course meal?

The three dishes do not have to go with each other, but just the ideal starter, main course and dessert.

Here is my choice:

Starter: Breaded mushrooms in barbecued dip. As long as this is very it, it is delicious.

Main Course: Lasagna with layers of beef, egg, cheese and tomato, sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Has to be served very hot.

Dessert: Jam sponge with custard.

Though it may be cheating, I can't forget the cheeseboard afterwards with lots of choices and then coffee!

Now it's over to you...

I prefer a salad as a starter.. Only I like my salads loaded with meat, cheese, egg, ect..

My favorite dishes are mexican or italian.. Its so hard to choose just one.. It would either be Cheese enchiladas with all the fixings or a pasta dish.. Too hard to choose..

Desert.. Well I dont really eat sweets.. so probably just some popcorn

    here via michele today!

  13. Sorry for the delay, Captain, had to find a Romulan signal to piggyback on.

Starter: Tossed salad with a nice honey mustard dressing. Add a good cocktail to that to get things started just right.

Main entree: Steak, preferably a nice ribeye or New York strip, grilled to a nice medium rare with a baked potato and steamed vegetables. Chase all that down with a good wine.

Desert: Cherry pie ala mode with a cup of Irish Creme coffee on the side.

  14. Starter - fresh buffalo mozzarella with oil and vinegar and peppers and some italian bread on the side. With a nice apple martini to get the party started.

Main Course - fettucini alfredo with grilled chicken. With a second apple martini to keep the party going.

Dessert - chocolate layer cake with chocolate icing. And maybe a chocolate martini to finish things off.

Gotta run, this has made me terribly hungry.

Lasagna is an international favorite! However I'll choose something else to share here...

To begin with~ Asparagus & Strawberry Elegante, a salad with asparagus and strawberries nestled on a bed of red-leafed lettuce, drizzled with honey-lemon vinegarette~

Main dish will be a shrimp & scallop alfredo, served over puff pastry in the shape of a fish~

Dessert ends the meal with an ice cream dish...Apricot Delight, which is apricot halves served over real french vanilla ice cream and topped with a buttery walnut crunch!

    Bon Appetit!

  18. Hey Picard! My choices would be:

    (1) start with Digby bacon-wrapped scallops pan fried in garlic butter

    (2) move on to surf-n-turf with a side of hodge podge (Nova Scotia dish, fresh vegetables - potato, green beans, carrots in cream - serve HOT)

    (3) cheesecake - any kind - not picky!!!

    Yum....gotta go eat something now....
